How does billing between Eversource and Solstice work?

As a Solstice customer, you continue to receive your electricity from your utility provider as usual, but we save you money! Soon after your share of a community solar farm begins producing energy, you start receiving solar credits on your monthly utility bills for the solar energy you generated.

Each credit you receive is applied as a deduction from your total electric cost on your Eversource bill. You'll find your community solar credit in the "Electric Account Summary" section of your bill within the "Other Charges or Credits" line - please note this may also include charges or credits unrelated to Solstice. You'll also find your community solar credit in the separate "Other Charges or Credits" section of your bill. In that section, the credit appears in the line named either "AOBC Transfer" or "Net Metering Credit."

You pay Solstice for each credit you receive at a discounted rate, ensuring you always save on your monthly electric costs. You can find your specific discounted rate in your Solstice contract, which can be accessed through your online Solstice account.

Here's how the process works:

  • Your credit will be applied to your monthly Eversource bills.
  • You will receive separate invoices from Solstice approximately 1-2 months after each credit is applied. Invoices detail the credit you previously received on your Eversource bill and the discounted charge you owe Solstice for that credit.
  • Solstice will charge you via autopay from the default payment method linked to your Solstice account.
