*If you receive a separate bill from Solstice for your community solar credits, this article does not apply to you.
Soon after your share of a community solar farm begins producing energy, you begin receiving solar credits on your monthly Central Hudson electric bills. A discounted charge for the credit is also applied to your bill.
Each credit is applied as a deduction and you pay for each credit at a 10% discounted rate - this way, you still save on your electric costs! Though we aim to cover as much of your typical annual electric cost as possible, your monthly credit may not always fully cover what you owe to your utility.
On your Central Hudson bill, you'll find your community solar credit and the discounted charge in the "Payments and Adjustments" section of your bill, as shown in the example below.
Community solar credits are labeled as "Community Distrib Generation Cr" and appear as a deduction. You pay for each credit you receive, but the charge includes a 10% discount. In the image above, the discounted charge is portrayed as “NMeter Credit Value Stack” on the bill. Please note that the discounted charge may instead be named "CDG Subscription Dr" on some bills.
The difference between the credit and charge makes up your net solar savings for the month. From the example above, the savings would be $5.50 - this value can be found in the "Bill Summary" section of the bill, as shown below in the "Billing Adjustments" line item from the first page of the bill. This line item may also include additional adjustments made to your bill.
