Soon after your share of a community solar farm begins producing energy, you begin receiving solar credits on your monthly Central Hudson electric bills. A discounted charge for the credit is also applied to your bill.
Each credit is applied as a deduction and you pay for each credit at a 10% discounted rate - this way, you still save on your electric costs! Though we aim to cover as much of your typical annual electric cost as possible, your monthly credit may not always fully cover what you owe to your utility.
On your NYSEG bill, your credits will appear in the "Miscellaneous Charges" section, as shown in the sample bill below. You'll see your credit labeled as"CDG Value Stack Credit." In the same section, you'll see your discounted charge for the credit labeled as "CDG Subscription Fee."
The difference between your credit and the charge is your net savings for being a Solstice customer! In this example, the savings was $6.58 for the month. This value appears in the "Consolidated Account Summary" section of your NYSEG bill and within the line "NYSEG Miscellaneous Charges," as shown in the same sample bill below. Please note this line may include additional adjustments unrelated to Solstice.
In your online Solstice account, you can find monthly credit explainers that include the total credit value and 10% discounted charge calculated on your NYSEG bills. Please note that your monthly credit explainers typically appear in your Solstice account 1-2 months after you receive the savings on your bill. This delay is due to the processing time it takes for NYSEG to send us your credit information.
