How does billing between JCP&L and Solstice work?

As a Solstice customer, you continue to receive and pay for your electricity from your utility provider as usual, but we save you money! Soon after your share of a community solar farm begins producing energy, you start receiving solar credits on your normal monthly utility bills for the energy generated by your share of the community solar farm.

Here's how the process works:

  • Your credit will be applied to your monthly JCP&L bills.
  • You will be charged a subscription fee for each credit at your contracted discounted rate. This charge will appear alongside your credit on the same JCP&L bill and it will always be less than the credit itself, ensuring you are always saving!
  • Approximately 1-2 months after receiving each credit, you will receive a statement from Solstice that details the credit and discounted charge previously applied to your recent utility bill. You will not be billed by Solstice separately.
