Soon after your share of a community solar farm begins producing energy, you begin receiving solar credits on your monthly National Grid electric bills.
Each credit is applied as a deduction, which helps you save on your electric costs! Though we aim to cover as much of your typical annual electric cost as possible, your monthly credit may not always fully cover what you owe to your utility.
If you're enrolled with a dual bill project, meaning you receive a bill from National Grid and Solstice:
- You'll find your community solar credit in the electricity "Delivery Services" and/or the "Supply Services" sections of your National Grid bill depending on your solar farm, as shown in the sample bill below. In both sections, the credits are labeled as "Community Net Metering Adjustment."
If you're enrolled with a consolidated bill project, meaning you do not receive a bill from Solstice:
- You'll find your community solar credit labeled as "CDG Credit - Applied To This Bill."
- Your bill will also include the discounted charge for your credit - in the example below the customer has a 10% discount, but your discount may be different. The charge is labeled as "CDG Subscription Fee."
- Other information related to your community solar credits is included on your bill as well, each of which is detailed in the sample bill below.
