As a Solstice customer, you continue to receive your electricity from your utility provider as usual, but we save you money on your electric bills!
Soon after your share of a community solar farm begins producing energy, you start receiving solar credits on your monthly utility bills for the solar energy your share of the farm generated. You then pay for each credit you receive at a fixed discounted rate, ensuring you always save on your monthly electric costs. Check out the breakdown below.
If you're enrolled on a two-bill project, you receive a bill from your utility and Solstice:
- Your credit is applied to your monthly utility bills. You are still responsible for paying these bills.
- You receive separate bills from Solstice approximately 1-2 months after each credit is applied. Solstice invoices detail the credit you previously received on your utility bill and the discounted charge you owe Solstice for that credit.
- Solstice charges you via autopay from the primary payment method linked to your Solstice account.
If you're enrolled on a consolidated billing project, you only receive a bill from your utility:
- Your credit and discounted charge for the credit are both applied to your monthly utility bills. You are still responsible for paying these bills.
- You receive credit explainers from Solstice approximately 1-2 months after each credit and discounted charge is applied to your utility bill. Credit explainers are statements that detail the credit and charge your utility provider applied to your bills.
